Hallelujah Here Below

Hallelujah Here Below

Elevation Worship’s seventh live album was inspired by a verse from Exodus, wherein God requests an altar built with imperfect stones. That resonated with the Charlotte, North Carolina-based worship group: When God asks us to gather together in praise, He doesn’t expect us to be perfect, but rather invites us, even in our brokenness and disarray. That theme courses throughout these worship anthems, recorded at Elevation’s flagship church. Hallelujah Here Below demonstrates the group at its best, moving from pensive piano balladry to a soaring rock singalong. But there are some inspired left turns, too—most notably the sleek, synth-driven pop track “Echo.”
